Do you feel that your breath is restricted and does not serve you ?
Maybe you have been told that your breathing is shallow.
Or you may have tried mindfulness meditation and discovered that this aspect is difficult for you.
Breathing is an automatic function and we usually pay no attention to it. We need the muscles for breathing to be free and responsive to our requirements. There is not one way to breathe and this is not about correcting anything.
However in exploring different approaches, there is an opportunity to realise where we are stuck, learning how to open up choices. In this way, changes become accessible.
Attention to the breath is an anchor in meditation practices and so learning more about our patterns of breathing can benefit and help our mindfulness practices.
The intention for this class is to:-
- Give yourself “you” time
- Become aware of habits that restrict breathing
- Encourage mindful attention to breathing
- Enjoy movements which will unlock the ribs, spine and diaphragm
- Use the breath to anchor mindfulness meditation
- Enjoy a freedom and flow of energy
- Reflect on what we can do to sustain this and the uses of the practices in daily life.
You may have attended the Monday workshop and want to review and expand explorations for the possibilities of breathing. But if not, you will benefit from attending this day only.
This workshop will be repeated on future dates so that you can return to continue the process.
