This Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programme, or MBSR course, has proven its effectiveness over many years. Each week has a theme and different practices are introduced. There is time for enquiry and sharing of experiences. Home practice is part of the course and a manual with CDs and other resources are provided to support you.
It is advisable to attend a Foundation Practices session prior to the course. This gives you an opportunity to experience, to have some discussion of the content and to decide whether to commit to the course. Alternatively an individual half hour interview is offered.
The first date is an orientation week and also allows you to review your decision. Short practices are introduced, background information and details of how the course will run be given so that we can begin in earnest on 30th January. At this stage, you may cancel and your deposit is refunded or you will be asked to complete the payment.
An extra silent practice day is highly recommended to consolidate your practice and is usually held at a weekend.
Of course the whole group is supportive as everyone has similar aims in attending and it is led in a gentle and non-judgmental manner, in the spirit of exploration and self-discovery.
