Being More - The Triadic Inner Expert

Well being. . . . can mean many things to different people but it involves an assessment of our physical, emotional and psychological being. These aspects are intertwined and constantly changing, as do our lives, every day.

Whatever we do , all these factors will come into play. It is not our role to judge or to make changes for others. We believe that with support and encouragement and self knowledge, changes do occur and are more sustainable because they arise from an inner learning.

The “Expert” on you , is YOU

Each individual can value what they have whilst knowing there is always more to learn. There are times when we learn more from being with others, sharing and experiencing, witnessing others' progress - from knowing we are not alone from receiving encouragement and guidance.

If you want to nurture yourself, develop your own inner guide and maintain a state of well being, please come and take advantage of our training and knowledge. Come and join in one of our classes or individual sessions.

Healthy Breathing and Relaxation

Breathing is natural…we do it all our life. It ebbs and flows with our activity and our energy, our state of mind and physical health.

There is no one way to breathe: we adapt to whatever is required in the present moment. Sometimes the demands of life, a loss, an injury or an infection upsets this flexibility and we become stuck in patterns which no longer serve us, but with which we have come so familiar, we no longer notice the restrictions.

Perhaps we are well aware of these limits but do not know how to change them?

Breathing is used in many disciplines for relaxation, and part of the benefit will be to let go of unnecessary tension.

This is an opportunity to explore different breathing patterns,
to discover for your-self “possibilities that appear impossible” in an easy,
gentle approach, which includes having fun.

Mindfulness and Moving.

We live in a world full of things to do …..But if you want a space.......to rest your mind, discover an inner stillness, to re-connect with listening to yourself,
whilst gently releasing habits of holding …………come to our Mindfulness and Moving class

Mindfulness has been described as paying attention in a particular way:
"on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgementally”

Although we will be sitting or lying initially, we need to move and be active too. However, the aim is to continue with that rested attitude; to employ the mindset of a young child, a playful curiosity, with no fixed ideas about how to do things and open to learning.

We want to find out how to move with the most efficiency, and the least effort.
In this way, we avoid injuries, maintain stability and flexibility.

Varied approaches are used, drawing from my training as a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, a Feldenkrais Practitioner and as a CoreSInging™ Teacher, together with my own personal experiences recovering from a back injury, and loss of voice through paralysis.

Back to Front

I suspect we all look in the mirror each day to review ourselves. Maybe you are able to quickly check now, how you look from the back?

It is not that easy unless we are in a changing room with opposing mirrors. We are far more familiar with how we look from the front, but we literally lose sight and touch of our backs and very often because of this, we tend to have little sensation of our spine..until it hurts!

Pain is a message that something needs to change. But what?

In our Back to Front sessions, you will become more aware of your spine—how it moves and connects in relation to the rest of you. In coming to know movements that support and habits that hinder flexibility, you will learn sustainable ways for avoiding future back problems and fostering greater ease and fulfilment in everyday life.

This involves exploring, within your comfort zones, movements that engage the spine through sensing the connection of your whole self.

Wherever you go, and whatever you do, your spine carries you. If you’ve had pain, have it now, or just wish to avoid it, this class will provide ways for getting to know your back better and to put into practice, habits that will support you.
